Is “no news is good news” an out-dated thing to say, with all of today’s technology?
I probably get or send a text to my fiance every two hours, all day long. How odd it would be to go back to the days of not speaking with your spouse from the time you leave them in the morning until they arrive home from work at night. I really think this has to do with my generation. I guess we are just used to being in constant contact with the world. I feel very weird when I don’t have my phone with me, or if I’m on a computer that doesn’t have internet access.
We don’t talk about anything important. Sometimes its just a quick text to say “love ya”.
I personally have embraced text messaging because I HATE talking on the phone.
My daughter is married to a man in the Army, and they don’t always get to talk. They get to communicate through e-mail, and chat most days, but there are times when they don’t get to talk at all because of communication problems, weather, he’s off on maneuvers, etc. She has to keep a positive mind and think that “no news is good news”, because when you’re in the military anything can happen.
